·        VB is a no-no, b/c prolonged exposure to VB causes brains to rot.

·        Experience with Linux is a plus, because we run our software on Mono, the open source .Net platform for Linux, developed by Novell.

·        Good design skills are important.  We don't use much OO, because most of our designs are service-oriented, which is a totally different beast that nobody teaches (well).

·        Experience with MySQL or SQL Server is a must.

·        Experience with XML/XSLT is a must.

·        Experience with distributed systems is a big plus.

·        The individual is expected to be able to work as an individual contributor. While design and architecture will be driven by the CTO, the expectation is that the individual will be able to continue improving the application without handholding.

** Write software design specifications and other support documentation

In addition to 6 + years experience, the successful candidate will have:

 ** Work exp in C# .NET 2.0 developing WinForms Desktop Applications with Visual Studio .NET 2005.

** Work exp developing Windows app's using OOP on Windows 2000/XP

** BSCS, BSCE, BSEE, or a degree in Mathematics or work equivalent

Additional skill sets desired:

 ** Strong background in C#, C++, Java or other OOP languages.

** Experience with Win32, MFC, internationalization and localization, and Windows XP Embedded are a plus.
